The purpose of Hockey in North Carolina is to provide more awareness and unity to the sport in the State of North Carolina. The goals for HockeyNC are thus:
- Getting more people attending hockey games at various levels of play/ability.
- Encouraging more people to play the game itself no matter how young or old.
- Increasing awareness of local hockey programs as well as the rink they play in.
- Engaging and facilitating discussion in order to grow the game.
These four goals are intertwined with each other with the end goal of having a more engaging, intelligent, and aware hockey scene. It is designed to hope people be able to answer the question "other than the Hurricanes, what other hockey teams do you know that play in North Carolina?"
We hope that through this project the game grows to the heights that we hockey-loving people in North Carolina can only dream about!
